Short stories

One of my biggest dilemmas in writing stories was the fact that i am not dedicated enough. I would get ten pages into my story and completely lose interest. That was when i discovered short stories.

I was always under the impression that a short story was a story, like a novel, but really short. and though this has some truths, it is false. A short story, as i have found, and stuff much more meaning into a story than any novel i read read so far has. each Short story has some underlined truth and sucks you in for he short time you are reading it.

I imagine short stories as snack sized foods. a novel is a whole three course meal, and short stories are the ice cream you eat at two in the morning while watching the news. Me, having a small appetite, had always preferred ice cream. Although a three course meal does has its advantages.

Now, instead of being a fifteen year old writer trying to write a thousand page novel, i am writing short stories and i am completely addicted.

I'm currently working on my second short story. My first one was, as far as my critics have said (critics meaning kids at school) was a success. I am happy to say that i will be enduring the writing business for awhile longer.
